Middle School Biology: DNA Structure

It’s not easy, but making DNA out of beads is a rewarding way to ensure that students never forget the basic structure of the DNA double helix.  I didn’t invent this by any stretch of the imagination – I got the beading instructions from a very clear website, http://www.indiana.edu/~ensiweb/connections/genetics/beadproject/astepone.html.  For me as a teacher, the best part is seeing a student (or sometimes a student’s mother) wear one of these DNA pendants years after the activity.
